“I really love this city. It’s so very beautiful. It’s so multidimensional.People say it has a darkness and a decadence, which it tries to hide; they say it’s full of the pretentious and opulent trying to strangle the dark reality. But that’s true for most of the other great cities too.” Umair Naeem, Drowning Shadows
“Pure, intense emotions. It’s not about design. It’s about feelings.” Alber Elbaz
“Every person needs a time out, away from stressful jobs, pressures from employers or clients, home responsibilities, etc., Everyone deserves to enjoy, visit unknown places, try other things, meet a lot of new friends, and feel at the top of the world. Life is full of fun, excitement, and adventure. Thus, vacation is an experience that’s worth remembering for a lifetime. It heals a weary mind and soul.” Alon Canilao Dy
I was lucky enough to get invited to the preview of MIA Miami International Art Fair aboard the luxurious yacht Seafair. According to their FB page, this art fair presents select international art dealers gather to showcase the most talented and visionary artists of the 20- 21st centuries. Exhibitions include cutting-edge photography, painting, mixed-media, sculpture, installation and video. Image quality is not the best but I hope you enjoy this post.
This piece is quite incredible, it seems so real.
Some artwork just wanted to make a strong statement like this toilet and tank.
Not sure if this is a real Warhol or a different artist using the Campbell soup cans made popular in the art world by Warhol.
“A city is not gauged by its length and width, but by the broadness of its vision and the height of its dreams.” Herb Caen
I have been very privileged to be living in one of the most beautiful cities in Miami Dade County: Coral Gables. Miracle Mile is part of the Downtown or business distric. It was designed by George Merrick who envisioned an area of shops, restaurants and financial institutions to be close by walking distance and/or easily accessed by using the Trolley service. I went for a walk on December 25th. The city gets beautifully decorated for the Holidays. I discovered a Spanish restaurant (not the one of the images – Randazzos is actually Italian), and was able to enjoy a quiet walk since just a few businesses were open.
Fairchild Botanical Garden just started exhibiting the amazing work of American artist Dale Chihuly. His glass sculptures/installations are so beautiful and refreshing for the soul. The garden is breathtaking and the perfect setting for these pieces. Besides the exotic flora some birds can be spotted as well as other animals if you are lucky. I will share other images in a new post later this week.
