A beautiful thought on love

Sandra Morales. 2012

“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.”  ― Pablo Neruda100 Love Sonnets

Fashion as visual art

“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” ~Coco Chanel

Church of the Little Flower

The beautiful Church of the Little Flower was established  in 1926 in Coral Gables, Florida. It was named in honor of St. Theresa of Lisieux, also known as “The Little Flower”. This catholic church is considered a historic landmark in the Miami area. As the name suggests, there are flowers around the church; especially roses. Next to the church there is a beautiful building that has on the entrance door two lions, symbols of courage. Please note the color of the sky has not been altered (PSD) in any way, this is how bright and blue it was this morning.

Advanced Illustrator

Illustration Sandra Morales. 2011

This illustration is based on the short story for kids Allison’s Alligator by S. E. Schlosser. I did this for my final project in my Advanced Illustrator class. We had to choose a short story  and draw/illustrate a specific ‘scene’ (not sure this is the right term) of the story. Quite a challenge. I don’t consider myself an illustrator. I knew it was going to be hard, because with illustration there are so many details. For projects like this, you need to practice, practice, practice; and have lots of patience. You also need to love what you do. I do love using Illustrator, and I did learn new things in this class. This is an ‘old’ project, created in 2011. Not all details are perfect, but for me, I did improve my skills and it reminds me of the things I can create with dedication, patience, and love.
